Valentine's Fun

I absolutely love Valentine's Day - it's probably my favorite holiday to celebrate at school. This year we made this adorable owl craftivity from A Modern Teacher. This is a photo of my teacher example on the whiteboard. The boys made owls with red hearts and bow ties - SO cute.
Underneath the heart flap I stuck on their school picture. It made the cutest parent gift and several kids told me the next day that their parents just loved them.
Then we did Conversation Heart math after lunch. I've made several of these candy math packets and the kiddos love 'em. Next I'll be doing jelly bean math for Easter. ;)
Sorting...
Graphing...
and measuring with candy!
And I HAD to share a photo of this adorable hair style one of my firsties came to school with. Her mom made a heart braid AND a heart part all around it. Cutest thing ever!! <3
I hope everyone had a fantastic Valentine's Day with their kiddos!

Valentine's Day Fun

I've been working away on fun materials for February and Valentine's Day. I am so excited because I purchased a commercial license from DJ Inkers so I can FINALLY use all of the adorable DJ Inkers clip art I've had for years in my TpT products!

With that in mind, I've had so much fun using my clip art to create this set of Valentine's Day cards. I made 36 B&W cards and 6 colored cards. I'm using these in my class for students whose families cannot afford to purchase cards. I'll also be using them with my students to decorate their Valentine's bags. Just click on any of the pictures to go straight to my TpT store.

I've also just completed the Little Book of February Words. I gave out the January edition as a freebie here. Each monthly booklet has 23 seasonal words with matching graphics and word wall signs. Needless to say, I spend a lot of time at My Grafico looking for cute clip art!

And, as I've done for other holidays, I created a fun math packet using seasonal treats. This time, I made a Conversation Heart math packet. The kids always love doing these. Who doesn't enjoy using candy as math manipulatives??

Great Finds!

Today I was a little nuts and ventured into Target. It was pretty crazy, but I'm glad I did because they had some very cute stuff in the dollar section!
Now I'm ready for Valentine's AND the 100th day of school in February. Love how Target has V-Day stuff before Christmas has even happened! I'm especially excited about this adorable little metal pail. LOVE the design! Reminds me of something Melanie from Schoolgirl Style would use!

I'm also very excited about these Leap Frog addition and subtraction mats that were only $1 each. They can be used with a dry-erase pen and re-used again and again. I bought 3 of each - they will be perfect for the new individual math boxes I am starting for each child in January!

You may also notice by now that I LOVE owls. This adorable gift bag was also in the dollar section. Not sure what I'll use it for, but I'll think of something. :)

I've also recently discovered the great teacher section they started at JoAnn craft stores. These name tags were 36 for only $4! I used a coupon and got them half off. Love a good deal!
